I started by getting referred by a current Salesforce employee. I think this is absolutely the way to go. They clearly value referrals and prioritize those. It shows that they trust and respect their employees to only pass along people they think are a fit.
I get an email from an inbound sourcing recruiter and we talk for 30 minutes about the role I am looking for and typical qualifications as well as any certifications. I clearly made an impression and then was interviewed by a recruiter for the group that I would be hired into. This interview was a lot more specific and focused on experience with the platform as well as industries worked in and my comfort level in front of a c-level executive.
I passed that one and then had a 45 minute interview with the hiring manager. This was a lot more formal and had some good discussion points around items like adoption, metrics, challenges and all the types of responsibilities that a CSD/CSM would have.
I passed that one and then spoke with a peer of the hiring manager. They asked some good questions and it gave me a chance to ask more questions about the role and expectations.
I passed that one and then went to the next step which was a panel interview and presentation. It was just over an hour and had 3 panel interviewers. I presented on a recent project that I had worked on and talked about how the salesforce platform was an enabler, how it helped solve a business problem and the results/ROI that we got from the project. There was 20 minutes of interview questions, 20 minutes for the presentation and questions and then some time at the end for me to ask questions. It was a well organized hour and I felt that I had a chance to show my experience and talk about the good and bad of a project and how salesforce helped.
I made a good impression and then had one final interview with another peer. I think this was just one final sanity check to make sure I knew what I was talking about and could back it up with real examples.
The next day I get a call saying that they were going to make me an offer, a few hours later I had an offer, the next day I accepted the offer. It was an absolutely incredible experience. Salesforce showed me how a real company can manage the entire process so smoothly, professionally and with excellent communication. I felt informed and fully understandable about the next steps throughout the process.
Thank you for taking the time to share these details with the Glassdoor community! It was great to read your success story and see that you had such a pleasant referral experience. Welcome to the #SalesforceOhana! - Ana Recio, SVP of Global Recruiting

Followed by a round with a more senior recruiter to discuss work experience and job expectations.
