This was a very bizarre and peculiar interview. In a nutshell, I had applied for the Director of Telco Collaboration role. The recruiter e-mailed me urgently saying that the hiring VP "really liked" my profile and wanted to arrange an interview ASAP. Even though I was travelling on a project, the recruiter was eager and persistent. So, I accommodated.
Our phone screen was pretty basic going over my experiences and the role's expectations. The recruiter indicated that they would be getting back to me within a week. It has been four weeks now and I still have not heard anything.
But as fate would have it, I had recently accepted a Sr. Director of Strategy role at large multi-billion dollar cap software giant. During a due diligence session, RingCerntral came up as a potential target entity for us to engage with -- but I recommended that we do not pursue any business ventures with RingCentral. Our executive brass agreed with me.
Ghosting candidates is never cool. And it's a very small world; people remember given that today's candidates are tomorrow's leaders. I would advise any candidate to be very leery of this company. Good luck!
