      Entrevista

After roughly 20 e-mail exchanges with the technical recruiter, I was moved on to a technical manager for a phone interview. Everything went okay. Both gentleman were very nice on the phone and the interviews were smooth. After a few days, I was told to create a Basic 5-page Technical Document on "Active Directory" for training employees. Completed that document and submitted it. After more days, I was told that the Document was impressive and I was called in to pass interview(s) with the HR Manager, Technical Manager, and Directors. Basically the interview was planned for 1PM to 5PM. (meet as many of the team as you can) This is where it went down hill. So I'm from the West Island, left my current job. Traveled about 45min to get downtown. Met with the Woman in charge of HR. We spent about 1 hour in a board room asking questions such as, "What is your biggest accomplishment?" and "Give me an example in your life where you failed?" She also spent 15 min going over the complexity of who AppHelp is and how its related to AppDirect. After our 1 hour interview, she left room and told my the second party will be joining shortly. 15 min later she came back in the room to tell me, "After discussing with the team, we're ending the interview process here.." Wow, I was shocked! I didn't know what to say.. The lady seemed awkward about the whole thing as well! I kept my composure.. Left without making a scene. But I was just wondering why would you make someone go all the way through the 1st and 2nd round, two separate telephone interviews, then submit a technical presentation.. then make them travel for 45min to see them.. only to tell them "we're cutting the interview early." I found it very disrespectful and a waste of time for everyone. If someone isn't qualified technically for a job, I get it. But screen that beforehand! I would of appreciated the "NO" on the first telephone meeting. Makes me question the level of disorganization and lack of structure about this, seemingly, fly-by-night operation. I guess its probably for the best I took my skills elsewhere.. Advice to anyone else, their interview process is a drag. I mean, if Google or Microsoft did that Okay... But not a B-Rated no-company.. Look into plenty of similar positions in the downtown area who have a better vision on employees and a more streamlined hiring process.
