The recruiter reached out to me about the role and asked for my current compensation and expectations, which I shared openly. When I asked about the compensation range for the position, they dodged and said that they “pay on average for the area.”
After the initial screening, I never heard back.
It made it hard to tell if there was even a realistic fit. Especially since they initiated outreach, a bit more transparency would’ve saved both sides some time...
