I have never been so I insulted at an interview. When I explained that I had been a contract employee of a major Internet publisher for the previous 8 years, I was asked it that was “by choice.” I said yes, and the next question began “If that’s true...” I was asked if I wanted to work temp while they continued to interview people. I was asked for recommendations of freelancers I had worked with. And then I didn’t hear from them again for two months. I finally called to find out they had hired someone else.
