I recently had a frustrating experience with a recruiter who seemed to approach our interview as if I were a criminal under investigation rather than a potential candidate. They scrutinized every line of my resume, demanding detailed explanations and verifications for each point, as if they were looking for flaws or inconsistencies. It felt less like a conversation and more like an interrogation, which left me feeling uneasy. I got the impression that they had been burned in the past by interviewees lying about their skills or background, and it had clearly soured their attitude. To make matters worse, the recruiter wouldn’t stay on video during the interview, making various excuses and only briefly showing themselves to prove they weren’t a bot. After enduring this intense questioning, I expected at least some feedback or follow-up, but instead, the recruiter completely ghosted me. There was no communication at all, leaving me wondering if the interview even mattered to them. It was disappointing and unprofessional, to say the least.
