5 remote interviews (initially) scheduled 1 per day over a week. First 3 went very well, then the last 2 suddenly turned very strange. Interview #4: the guy cancelled at the last minute, delaying the remaining interviews until they could be rescheduled. When we finally met, he asked me to explain an obscure paper I'd never read, and seemed frustrated and impatient throughout. Interview #5: the guy seemed completely unprepared, and asked me nonsense questions about nothing. It felt like they'd found a candidate they liked, and were intentionally sandbagging my interviews since they were already scheduled. It was a very disappointing experience.
