After being shortlisted, you go for a screening interview online, and then go through an unpaid training that takes a few days, then if you pass the training, you start working.

The interview was positive, the lack of a response or status update was negative. Adam called me to schedule a time to take the test. I took an extended lunch from my work to drive to the Tampa office, and when I arrived, the receptionist apologized that Adam, the Tutor Director, was not there. She handed me a packet and showed me a room where I was to take the test. I sat in a room at a large table with another test-taker. The test had multiple choice grammar questions and a sample paper to be marked and corrected. After I finished, I had to find Adam's office, since no one explained what to do when I was finished. He was with someone, so I waited patiently in the test room. Afterward, he came and got me from the room, and we talked about hours and availability. He said he would phone in 3 days. When he didn't phone, I phoned back and left a message inquiring about the status of my application. He never returned my call. I phoned 2 more times and emailed a few times as well. I never received the courtesy of a call back or status update. While Adam was nice in the interview, he struck me as very unorganized. I consider it quite unprofessional to be left without so much as a return phone call or even an email. Also, I forgot to mention - at the end of my packet, I found the answers to the multiple choice questions attached. When I spoke to Adam in the interview, I explained what I had found and gave it to him. He asked how I did, and I said I used it to check my answers. I marked on the test which ones I got wrong. He then continued the interview as if that wasn't a problem and left me thinking that all was good. They needed tutors, and I was qualified as a former teacher. However, as I mentioned, I never received the courtesy of a return phone call or a status update. Even if they were not interested, someone should have responded to my phone calls. I interviewed at the end of August 2015.
