Envié una solicitud electrónica. El proceso duró 2 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Jitera en jul 2024
Entrevista
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Jitera (UK) July 23, 2024.
- The first stage of the interview was with HR over Google Hangouts The interviewer didn't bother turning on his camera, so it felt a bit awkward being the only person with the camera on
- The second stage was to complete 2 coding tests in under one hour, a CSV to JSON in Node.js app with no libraries and a React todo list, both code tests needed to be done in the coderbyte code editor.
- I ran out of time on the CSV to JSON Node.js App, while trying to address issues and debug the code - Building a Node.js app from scratch to handle CSV data conversion, especially without a library and within a one-hour limit using a web-based code editor which keeps on crashing and freezing up, proved to be quite challenging. I found this to be a bit overwhelming under the given constraints.

Pregunta 1
Why have an hour limit? In my experience writing quick code always results in disaster.
Why do we have to use a web-based code editor, why are we not allowed to use our own code editor? I also was not able to debug my Node.js code on coderbyte.

Entrevista
Was a good experience. First they gave me a take home test with 2 sections. A NodeJS CSV to JSON converter exercise and a ReactJS todo list. After Passing that. They did the technical interview with good exercises to test my problem-solving skills and TypeScript knowledge. Unfortunately, I didn't prepare well for that so I didn't get selected. Overall a very good experience.
