Interview focussed on valuation methodologies, a few questions on the 3 financial statements, and a spontaneous case discussion on one of the sectors/industries of your choice. The interviewer also focussed more on fit, since in equity research you work with one team covering one sector. So, fit with team members is another important aspect judged in the interview.
It was pretty good. First round with HR, second round with people on the team you networked with/demonstrated interest in. Brush up on accounting. Make sure you have a good story as to why ER over IB/PE/VC/etc

The interview process or rather the selection process is bit of a hectic one with multiple rounds of interview and it also had a very difficult aptitude test that almost no one that I know was able to crack.

Had experience at another bank in a regional office so was completely over the phone. First with HR, 2nd with head of department, 3rd with the analyst. Was given a technical test through email. All pretty straightforward.
