      Nothing short of dreadful. I was initially interested in this role, but I decided not to continue after seeing only the first stage of the process. First I spoke to a recruiter who was very pleasant, wasn't really asked much about my resume, seemed more just to fill in any blanks which was okay. She then said she'd show my resume to the hiring manager and they would decide whether to put me through to an online assessment, which they did. Now, when I think of online assessment for software engineers, I think of online programming tests that many other companies have. This is not that. It's what's called a CCAT which, if you don't know, is first a bunch of questions to ascertain a personality type and then 50 abstract math/english and spatial reasoning questions that you must answer as many as possible within 15 minutes. I guess some senior exec thought online IQ tests were a good way of assessing talent for a senior software engineering role? At any rate, I cancelled the test midway through the "personality quiz" because the questioning was extremely invasive. I was literally asked to rate how much the verbatim phrases "I am lonely" and "I have friends of the opposite sex" apply to me on a scale of 1 to 5. I don't know who thought this exam was a good and legal way to screen candidates, but I immediately closed my browser window and sent polite email of rejection to the recruiter. The recruiter got back to me the same day saying they understood my reasons but also tried to reassure me that none of the answers in the test are shared with anyone from infoblox. So why ask the questions in the first place? If it's not okay to ask the question in person, why would it more okay to ask in some sterile online questionnaire? My advice to this company: get rid of this nonsense CCAT assessment, it tests no obvious job function and is insulting to candidates. It may even outright illegal since it would be trivial to determine protected characteristics from. You are losing fully capable candidates due to a misguided faith that a computer can tell you whether someone is a good fit for your company, which is a massive shame because it otherwise seemed like a good gig. So long as this assessment is in place though, I will not consider reapplying.

      Thank you for your review. The CCAT test is a best practice of Infoblox and is used widely in the technology world to assess candidates prior to hire.

      Everything is great except the hiring manager was not sure about the project requirements. it seems to me. He doesn’t know what is server side programming and keep on asking what else you did in server side. After answering many times I asked which area of server side are you expecting ? And he was not even able to express himself.
