I applied online and received a call from a recruiter. The chat was more about my background, experience and some information about the role. Following which, I had another senior recruiter contact me for a telephone screen which encompassed the same format. She then asked me to come into the office for a face to face assessment.
On the day, while I waited at reception, the senior recruiter did not greet me with a handshake or an introduction and simply waved over to me to walk in her direction. I found this very rude to begin with. We spent 5 minutes looking for the meeting room in which the interview was going to be conducted. The face-to-face interview asked me the same questions as those on the phone. Rather than questioning to understand my knowledge on HP and it's products, I was baffled by the way the senior recruiter was bragging about HP in an irrelevant way to the interview (i.e. I don't have a notebook in the office at all because I use my laptop for everything; I don't remember what a phone looks like because we use our laptops to make phone calls). Halfway through the interview, the interviewer had to rush for another meeting and I was waiting for another member of the team to meet me. The two ladies were professional and polite. However, their questions were repetitive to what was already asked in the two phone calls and interview prior. After which, I was supposed to meet with another senior member of the business who never showed up for the interview. The ladies said she would contact me for a phone interview, however, that never happened.
A week after my interview, I received a call from one of the recruiters to clarify my salary expectations for the role. I didn't receive any interview feedback and following the phone call, there has been no communication since.
Overall, the candidate experience was below average & poor. From an international company like HP, I expected better.
