I initially applied for a position and was interviewed by an individual named April. I mentioned several times that I was located in the US and I was informed that the company primarily hired candidates outside the United States, but she decided to continue with the interview in case a client was interested. Weeks later, I was contacted by April regarding a position that aligned with my resume. I interviewed again with the Account Manager named Apple. Then, got selected to interview with the client. I was told I had been selected by the client and received a job offer and onboarding documents. After that, the process became unclear. I was asked to submit sensitive information through non-standard methods, such as banking information through a shared Google document. Each onboarding document listed inconsistent pay rates. Some stating $3/hr for a bookkeeping role. They wanted me to upload my picture to a third- party editing website. Additionally, I was also told I would be subject to Philippines employment law despite being located in the United States. I never received standard U.S. onboarding documents such as a W-4 or I-9. When I requested clarification regarding pay structure and onboarding requirements, I was told they were reviewing some information and that they will respond to my questions within 24 hours. I never received a follow-up response. Based on my experience, this company lacks transparency and professionalism. I would advise other applicants to proceed with caution when applying to this company before sharing any personal information.
