Online application followed by a twenty minute technical phone interview with an assessment centre to end it off. The technical phone interview was asking common questions such as what is object oriented programming (inheritance etc), questions on data structures, questions on SQL and a few on internet protocols. The assessment centre in my opinion was disappointing. It was from 8:30am to '3pm'. The day consisted of a group exercise, a multiple choice technical and reasoning test, and a data analysis report. Afterwards we had lunch with the current placement students and were told we made it to the interviews. However, I felt the interviews were not very well structured. There were 3-4 interviewers and about 6 of us and they only interviewed one at a time, so some people were able to leave around 2pm whereas others had to leave after 4pm. Furthermore, the interview felt rather unprofessional with one of the interviewers making jokes during the process with an attitude of I'm better than you. The interview felt rushed (possibly due to it being well past 3pm) and I don't the interviewers know how to get the best out of you, so be warned to fully elaborate your points without being asked - they ask very open questions eg, how much do you know about databases and SQL?
