Hiring manager for a Mandiant team reached out directly to me to hire a Team Lead for a Kubernetes-focused DevOps team.
I replied and he asked me to send him my email so he could follow up "tomorrow". He followed up two days later and answered some of my questions and said he "would love to connect if it sounds of interest". I thought it might fit what I'm looking for so I sent him a copy of my resume and a link to my calendar to schedule a call.
He then fell off the radar and has not responded to a single email in a month. I have sent multiple follow-up emails and received 0 response.
Disappointing experience and I expect better of hiring managers; it is disrespectful of candidates' times. Please don't reach out to candidates if you're not actually interested or you don't intend to respond to them. Reach out to candidates when you plan to respect their time and have structured your hiring process thoughtfully to do so.
I can only imagine that if I spent more time on more steps of the interview process, I would've had 0 response afterword. Do better.
