      Entrevista de Implementation Project Manager

      Solicitud

Solicité el puesto a través de la recomendación de un empleado. El proceso duró 4 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Epic (Madison, WI) en jun 2016

      Entrevista

The interview process at Epic consisted of 3 parts; the phone interview, competency exams, and on site interview. The interviewers over the phone are not necessarily from HR; they are current job incumbents for the role you're applying to. Consequently, they are not formally trained on giving interviews but they can tell you a lot about the job if you have questions. Interviewers for the Implementation Project Manager position tend to be young and sociable, so if you're able to make a personal connection (even if it's not related to the position), they'll likely recommend you for an onsite interview because they thought you were socially competent. The competency exams will quiz you for general intelligence as well as other traits like resiliency and logistical processing. If you don't score well on the exams, you likely won't be invited onsite (even with the recommendation of the phone interviewer). If you are invited on site, you'll spend a full day onsite. Epic will fly you to the campus and put you in a hotel/provide transportation. The interview day starts off with a demonstration of Epic's software with time for you to ask questions. After the presentation, you are interviewed in a small group (5-10 folks). After the group interview, you are taken on a tour of the campus and then fed lunch. After lunch, you're asked to give a presentation on any topic of your choice. An HR representative will give you more specifics on the interview when coordinating your onsite interview. Lastly, you're interviewed 1:1 with another employee. The day ends with an interview with an HR employee who goes through some logistical questions (when could you start, would you need reimbursement to relocate, etc.). Throughout this entire day, Epic will sell you to work there. The campus is impressive and the interviewers are endlessly attractive, positive, and very smart. I flew home incredibly excited to work at Epic. When deciding whether to work at Epic or not, just remember that Epic has a very strong reputation of bringing in young talent, working them until they are burned out, and continuing to add to the workload until they've had enough and decide that the lure of a taxed sabbatical is no longer worth it.

2 stage interview process, questioned on both hypothetical customer facing dilemmas and past personal experiences. Prepare 10 minute presentation on topic or subject of your choice; be sure to pick something you're both passionate and knowledgeable about.

      Entrevista

First got an email from a recruiter in early April and submitted my application right away. The next day, I received an email to schedule both a phone interview and online skills assessment. - The assessment contained logic questions designed to test your intelligence / reasoning skills, as well as a coding portion and timed portion. The coding portion was straightforward (this is not a technical role), just gives you basic rules for the code and explains everything upfront. I don't think this will be an issue even if you have no experience. - I did the phone interview a couple of days later. I was expecting it to be more of an interview, but it was more of a screen. I can't remember if it was someone currently in the role or who had been it it before, but they are just trying to make sure you understand the position and that you are comfortable with the travel, relocation, etc. This is a great time to ask questions about the job since they are very familiar. - Later that day, a couple hours after my phone interview, I got an email saying I got an on-site interview. I flew out later that week and arrived in Madison in the afternoon. There is an optional dinner with an Epic employee and other interviewees that night. This is truly optional and won't weigh on their decision to offer you or not. It was with an Epic employee, not HR (or anyone you'd meet with the next day for that matter). This is another great time to ask questions about the job without really having to be choosy about your words like you would be when interacting with a recruiter. The interview day consisted of a demo of the software, a meeting with a current PM, a (partial) tour of the huge campus, lunch, a presentation to a group of 3 Epic employees about a topic of your choosing (don't sweat this, you can literally talk about anything, they just want to see that you can relay an idea to someone else), a 1:1 interview with a PM, and a 1:1 interview with your HR rep. Overall great experience, very nice people with a ton of good information and questions that will make you think a little. - When it was all said and done, I received and accepted an offer about 2 weeks after my on-site interview. I have heard that this varies for people - 2 weeks being on the longer end and the next day on the short end - so don't worry if you don't hear anything immediately.

Online application, 30 minute phone call, followed by a series of online tests related to computer programming. Not being a computer background, the online testing was extremely difficult and certainly the reason why I did not progress in the process. Good experience overall tho - nice and easy interview. Online testing was tedious, took a very long time and the virtual test monitoring was easy to set up.
