I interviewed for the position of AI & Data - Agentic AI Engineer - Manager at EY in Feb 2026. I got my first interview conducted with a senior manager who walked me through the role and responsibilities. I had a good chat with them on my career and experiences I got over past 10 years. The job spec required an MS or PHD with several years of customer facing experiences, and very very strong technical base with software Architect, and with Agentic AI experiences in client facing roles. I was fitting well on all the requirements. It went well and they request for a second round interview, however HR wanted to have chat on Salary and stuff. That's where I got shocked to hear about the salary they were offering. The figures HR mentioned was what I was taking 8 years ago in a smaller city than Dublin. Such a waste of time. EY will pay a graduate salary to a 10 plus years of experience. I rejected the offer as they gave a very low offer that I was on 7 years ago.
