First round HR screening followed by meeting with hiring manager and finally a technical screening with someone from the team.
First two rounds went extremely well, as did the third, or so I thought. My interviewer seemed distracted the whole time and was taking personal phone calls during our discussion and having side conversations with others in the room. Needless to say, I answered all of the pertinent questions and even demonstrated a few new workflows that I thought might be helpful. Things ended on a pleasant note for sure.
To my surprise, I received a call a few days later from recruiting stating that I didn’t get the job because I didn’t answer x correctly when in fact I answered it to the book definition (it was a trivial thing too). It was almost like they were referencing a completely different interview or person because the feedback made no sense. I asked for feedback from the manager, no response, further feedback from HR, no response. Very unprofessional and frankly shady interview process.
*I would love to speak with someone in a leadership position in recruiting just to understand what happened here. I’m certain that I could have really helped the company out and been successful in the position and the way I was treated is just unfathomable for a company of this caliber.
