Found the opening via LinkedIn. A friend and colleague's daughter worked at Criteo, so she referred me. I had a great phone screen with an HR person. I then had breakfast with the then General Counsel. The meeting seemed to go well. His only reservation appeared to have been that he would have to convince the C-level folks because I hadn't worked in a publicly traded company before. We were supposed to reconnect in a week. I emailed a thank you. I followed up each week for several weeks. I never heard from him. A month or so later I learned that he had left the company. I never heard back from the HR person whom I emailed soon thereafter.
