Fairly shortly after applying I was called by a Cox representative who walked me through what was expected of me during the process and what all was going to be happening. Cox scheduled a drug test at my convenience, and shortly thereafter had me sit down with a floor supervisor to do an interview. Fairly straight-forward interview in a conference room, personality questions and the like, followed by a phone role-play of a standard customer experience. Once hired we went through Cox general training followed by our specialized department training. We were Cox employee with full benefits upon being hired, but didn't take on job roles for about 8 weeks.
