I applied for post of ETL developer at Citi, I have a total of 7 years ETL experience. Interviewer started first with ETL questions which I almost 80% answered correctly. To note: all the questions were from the internet , seems like interviewer didn't have much experience on the tool.
Then he asked me to rate yourself on Database, I said 7. I didn't know the interviewer was only asking about oracle SQL as it seemed that he knew about only that and will ask all Database questions related to Oracle, still I answered in the ratio of 50-50 in this section. If he has gone through my cv, I am ETL certified, I am Azure certified professional. Apart from this I have worked on Salesforce, Hive and Postgres. Then last round was on Unix which I answered all questions correctly.
The result was not positive. I just wanted to ask the primary position you were looking for was ETL developer in which I answered almost every question. Judging a person on Database and that too only on Oracle SQL is not correct, remember the position was for ETL developer and not database developer.
Please change your judging criteria.
