      Solicitud

Envié una solicitud electrónica. Acudí a una entrevista en Cedrus (New York, NY) en oct 2017

      Entrevista

After a phone screen I was asked to come in for an interview. We agreed on a day an was told I would be receiving an invite later that day. I didn't receive the invite until 4 hours before the interview. In the invite it said to bring a laptop, which was a problem since don't own one(Desktop user). I get there and they give me a loaner macbook, and give me an MEAN stack coding challenge with one hour to complete. I was not able to complete the assignment because there wasn't sufficient permissions on the laptop to do anything. I couldn't even npm anything. They told me that we can do the interview another day with my own laptop, in which I told them that I don't own one. They then said well we didn't account for this, so nice meeting you and sent me on my way. This company is unorganized and unprofessional. They couldn't of communicated such important details much earlier rather than waiting until a couple of hours before hand.

      Solicitud

Solicité el puesto en persona. El proceso duró 2 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Cedrus (New York, NY) en dic 2017

      Entrevista

My initial contact with Cedrus was through a job fair where I met with one of their engineers for ten minute behavioral interview. We discussed my background, he asked about some of my projects and told me about the company. We also spoke afterward during a networking hour.

      Preguntas de entrevista [1]

      Pregunta 1

The onsite had two technical portions. The first part was pretty typical. I was asked to speak about projects I had worked on and discuss my previous work background. I was then asked a series of technical questions having to do with vanilla javascript concepts. In the afternoon I was given a coding challenge which I had two and a half hours to complete. I thought it was a fair way of assessing a developers knowledge and skill level. It was slightly stressful because I did it in a conference room with other people competing for the same position. We were asked to create a front end user interface that depended on a server we set up, and that server was supposed to make requests to a 3rd party API.
