I was so ready to start here but unfortunately could not get a hold of the HR department to finalize the offer. It started with a preliminary interview, then speaking to the team leader two days later. A few hours later, I had a plane ticket to Chicago and a hotel reservation (covered by the company) to meet the team in person. I go in 15 minutes early and wait 45 minutes to be seen. I have a great interview which starts at high school and walks through my entire history up to this point. And then I fly home. A few days later I receive an offer from a competitor company. I inform AmericanEagle.com and they say they'll send over an offer right away. A few days pass and I receive an offer by email, but no paperwork. I accept, but don't hear from the team for several days. A full week passes and I ping them again. They ask my mailing address, but I still have no formal offer or paperwork. 3 full weeks pass and I have not received any communication from their team. I called HR several times and couldn't get through leading me to accept another offer. Exactly 3 weeks after the last communication, I received a notice that my laptop had shipped and I'd be starting Monday -- having still not received any paperwork. As much as I wanted to work here, I unfortunately had to turn the position down.
