Envié una solicitud electrónica. El proceso duró 7 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Aflac

      Entrevista

I had four rounds, 2 with HR, 2 with the technical mangers. While the technical questions were easy, I strongly disapprove of their interview procedure. I applied through their online portal. Weeks later, I received a phone call from a woman who said she worked in HR at Aflac. I answered "hello, this is ." She immediately accused me of treating her in a rude and unprofessional manner. I was bewildered and said I'm sorry if I offended you I'm not sure what I did that was rude. She then said that normally when she reaches out to people they are very excited when they hear from HR. I smoothed it over from her, but I was offended by the fact that she expected me to jump up and down with joy upon hearing her call me (after I applied via the portal). In my second interview with the woman from HR, she reiterated to me several times about how "only a few" resumes get through and that I should be happy to be allowed to proceed to the technical rounds. When she brought up salary, she quoted a below market range for the base salary, and then said that we can't do any higher so if you're looking for more, apply elsewhere. I did apply elsewhere (in fact, I was applying to several companies at the same time as to evaluate my options) and my current employer pays significantly higher as a base. Also, their CEO makes millions yearly (this is publicly available information you can search for), so they can afford to pay more, they just don't want to. I ended up going through the technical rounds just as a matter of safety. One round was very easy and I answered all of the person's technical questions correctly. The second one was a bit weird, and I did feel disrespected in it. He asked me a few technical questions, and then he noticed that I do not have C++ listed on my resume. This is intentional as I am not a C++ programmer. He asked me some C++ questions and I gave the best answers I could. I got maybe one or two answers right and another one or two wrong, but again, I reiterated to him, I'm not a C++ programmer and this position was not advertised as requiring C++. Finally, he wanted me to handwrite some code. This in of itself I find annoying. If they want to issue a coding screen, they should use hirevue, coderpad, hackerrank, or some other provider. Instead he wanted to me to physically clear out of my desk (which had papers, pens, my coffee mug, etc) and for me to move my webcam around so that he could verify that nothing was on my desk. Then he said I should push my office chair back and write from hand in front of the camera so he knows I'm not cheating. I should have ended the interview their but I played along. The algorithm he asked me to write was to find the 2nd maximum value in an array. I got the answer right, and even though this was done on webcam, an hour later he asked me to send a photo from my phone because he had trouble seeing it from the webcam. Eventually, they ghosted me. My regret is that I didn't reject them first and give them a piece of my mind. Don't interview with them, they need to fix their attitude.
