Claims Accounting Team Lead (Non-Life Insurance) | Hybrid

About the Role

Are you an experienced insurance accounting professional ready to step into a pivotal leadership role? We are seeking a dynamic Claims Accounting Team Lead to oversee the daily accounting processes for our Non-Life Insurance claims department.

In this role, you will lead a dedicated team of claims accountants, supervise the verification of claims payments, and ensure the absolute accuracy of technical reports and loss reserves. If you have a sharp eye for detail, a strong background in general accounting, and a passion for mentoring talent, we want you on our team.

Core Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Talent Management: Provide daily guidance, coaching, counseling, and performance feedback to direct reports. Foster a collaborative environment focused on professional growth and engagement.
• Process & SLA Management: Manage the end-to-end operational workflow of the claims accounting team. Ensure strict compliance with established procedures, accuracy, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Develop and implement internal policies aligned with company objectives.
• Financial & Budgetary Oversight: Plan and execute department-specific financial strategies, monitor budget adherence, optimize costs, and allocate resources efficiently.
• Data & Document Integrity: Supervise the team's data management practices to ensure all claims accounting records, databases, and financial documents are complete, accurate, and compliant with company standards.
• Stakeholder Experience: Oversee daily service delivery, troubleshoot operational bottlenecks, and maintain strong cross-functional workflows to ensure an excellent internal and external client experience.

Job Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor’s/College Degree in Accountancy or any accounting-related course.
• CPA license is a highly preferred advantage.

Experience & Background:

• Must-Have: A strong, proven background in General Accounting.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in claims accounting, technical accounting, or financial reporting specifically within the insurance industry.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a supervisory, senior, or team lead capacity.
• Nice-to-Have: Prior experience working in a reputable auditing firm is highly preferred.

Technical Skills:

• Deep expertise in applying specialized accounting principles for insurance claims, including the valuation of Loss Reserves and IBNR (Incurred But Not Reported).
• Proven experience generating technical reports such as Loss Triangles.
• Strong proficiency in Technical Financial Reporting, Ledger Reconciliation, and Cross-Functional Workflow Management.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint) with advanced/expert level MS Excel and data analysis tools.

Soft Skills & Location:

• Excellent English communication skills (both written and oral).
• Meticulous attention to detail and sharp analytical thinking.
• Must be willing to work in Makati City under a hybrid setup (4 days work-in-office, 1 day work-from-home).

Pay: Php30,000.00 - Php35,000.00 per month
