This Saturday November 9th is National Lung Cancer Screening Day. The dedicated team at RAYUS Radiology in Indiana will be opening 5 centers (Avon, Carmel, Greenwood, Lafayette, and Terre Haute) to accommodate patients who would not typically be able to come in during the week to get screened. Currently in Indiana, only about 5.1% of high-risk patients have been screened for lung cancer. Eligible patients will need an order from their medical provider prior to scheduling. American College of Radiology is calling for earlier and more-intensive screenings for high-risk women. Physicians can start assessing the risk of patients starting at age 25 to determine the need for earlier screening and risk reduction strategies.
