RealNetworks has enjoyed real success in the world of digital media -- hundreds of millions of people have downloaded the company's RealPlayer product to stream and download audio, video, and other multimedia content. Its primary revenue, though, comes from mobile phone carrier software for ring tones, music and video on-demand, and text messaging. RealNetworks also licenses its Helix server software to carriers and media companies for entertainment broadcasts and provides end users with access to news, sports, and entertainment content (SuperPass). Other divisions sell downloadable games (GameHouse) and offer cloud storage for personal media (Unifi). The company gets about half of its sales in the US.
