Keithley Instruments wants to be instrumental to the success of engineers, scientists, and technicians. Keithley makes some 500 different products used to control, measure, and trace signals, whether they take the form of electrical current, light, or radio waves. Its portfolio includes digital multimeters, semiconductor parametric test and device characterization systems, signal analyzers and generators, and plug-in boards that enable PCs to be used for data acquisition. About 75% of Keithley's sales are to non-US customers. The research and education sectors represent about 40% of sales. In 2010 Danaher acquired Keithley in a deal valued at around $300 million.
