I joined as the Head of People, a role that had already seen 2 predecessors before me. Unfortunately, I was informed that I did not pass the probation period, which suggests a recurring pattern worth noting. From my experience, the People function is not genuinely valued within the company. Expectations are unclear, and the role tends to operate more as an execution arm for the founders rather than as a strategic partner. This makes it very difficult to create meaningful impact or drive long-term initiatives. I would encourage potential candidates to carefully assess whether the scope, expectations, and level of support for this role align with what they are looking for before joining.
