- Good Benefits (Not the best but pretty good still) - International culture, you get to work with different people around the globe.

Desventajas

In the first years it was a good company to work for but as time progressed it started to have many issues that I will list below: - Problem with raises, You would receive a small raise that was an insult and that assuming if you got any, since the raises were limited one person per team, so you would have to get an incredible score in your talent review. This shows that the company doesn't have a stable, confident growth strategy. -External hiring bias. Instead of promoting the current employees who know how the company works they would rather hire new people who doesn't have experience in the payments sector, leading to low morale, talent leaving and constant reset of teams. When the CEO got questioned about the people that were leaving due to lack of opportunities he answered "we'll just find new people" demonstrating that he doesn't care for the employees at the company. - Work harassment and toxic environment. Micromanagement from my previous boss, she would question why I was disconnected for five minutes and she would keep track of the rest of the team rather than do her job, it would even go as far that she would implement this type of behavior for other teams such as Customer Due Diligence, Risk and Treasury even though it wasn't her department, she would constantly lie to fabricate this false idea that she was a great leader and would blame other people of her choices making them look bad or taking the blame instead of her and double cross you when you least expected it generating a toxic environment in the Office and affecting everyone's mood. - Issues with HR. In simple words, the HR department was incompetent and it wasn't present in some offices such as Mexico and USA, which generated that people like the previous Director that I mentioned could do what they wanted unchecked and when ex-colleagues raised a proper formal complaint for the abuses of this Director, the responses that they would get from HR would be "The CEO approved her personally, so there is nothing to be done", showing how inept they are and how the CEO protects toxic leadership. - Lack of new clients. In those years there wasn't even a single new client in the region for LATAM and instead it went the other way around, they lost many clients not able to retain them due to ,many reasons, demonstrating how of a sunken ship it is. - Chronic layoffs. In my time at the company there were five layoffs in total and two of them happened last year. This shows that the company never found a sustainable operating model and that the company is structurally unstable. If you have the opportunity to work there I would recommend you to reconsider that decision for your well being, since nobody deserves to work in a place like this.

I met some very good people- but then again, that happens in most places.

Desventajas

I am well aware that the below will seem very biased but after working there for over four years I know what I’m saying. - Cult of personality for the CEO. He wants yes-people and if you question him at all, there will be consequences (from not being invited to certain meetings anymore to much worse). - Clueless Sales team. It’s the classic consequence of having a base salary and possible bonuses for signed clients- they will do very questionable things to get a new client signed. They also expect other teams to do their job for them, plain and simple. - Terrible HR. There are often two types of HR departments, the ones that care about employees and the ones that are simply the enforcers of whatever Management says. In PPRO they are the second. They call themselves “People Team”, however do not let that fool you. Terrible professionals, terrible people. - Messed up culture in many ways. For example, if something goes well, Sales takes the win. If something goes wrong, CDD/Risk/Compliance will take the blame. - Low salaries with ridiculous raises (when those happen). To provide an example, when I was promoted my salary raise was only 2% higher than inflation (and I was already underpaid). Also, there aren’t any bonuses. - Antediluvian software. A company that grows as much as PPRO has done during the last few years needs to invest in proper software and not keep using things that were ok in 2012. The amount of manual work (often caused due to software crashes) in unbelievable. - Management will never tell you what’s going on. Every monthly company meeting will be full of “I’m so excited” statements because, in theory, everything is going amazing. Newsflash: this is not the case. - Lots of layoffs in the last few years. The worst part is not that this happened, it’s how it happened. Total disregard for the employees, telling them at the last possible moment (legally speaking) even when Management knew several months before. Zero attempts to relocate workers that had been doing a good job for years in situations where it could have been done as they still needed the positions. There were also situations in which employees were borderline mobbed. Lots of good people have been laid off and I do not expect the company to survive in the long term. - Terrible nepotism. It doesn’t matter how well you do your job. What matters is who you are friends with. - In case it wasn’t clear- the current Management is terribly incompetent. No concern or empathy is showed towards employees. - If you see old reviews, you will clearly see that things were better several years ago and people are very unhappy now. You will also see that Management is so desperate to pretend things are going well that fake reviews have been posted here (see e.g. “Strong leadership and culture” from 3rd October, 2025. What was written does not even make sense and it was obviously done to give the company five stars to make up for the many negative reviews it was receiving those days.
