Some of the people (especially newer employees).

Desventajas

Be extremely cautious before considering coming here. The reality is that this is not a place you want to work. There’s a reason churn is so high among newer employees, and it continues to worsen. Hiring, firing, and retention are not tied to performance—they’re driven by proximity to an “inner circle.” Longer-tenured employees have openly said, “They’ll be taken care of no matter what happens.” The culture is deeply problematic. Some long-tenured employees will exclude you professionally, present a friendly face on Zoom calls, and then speak negatively about you behind your back. There is little to no accountability from leadership or HR, even when this behavior comes from individuals considered leaders. At Virtuous, decisions are rarely data-driven. Instead, they are often based on conjecture, internal narratives, and favoritism. During the interview process, be cautious about relying too heavily on perspectives from employees who have been there for more than three years or anyone on a panel interview. Financial priorities appear misaligned, with focus placed on restructuring cap tables rather than investing in the product or addressing clear gaps in support. Transparency around company performance and financial health is minimal. Growth is slowing, and customer dissatisfaction with the product is increasing. Go-to-market strategy shifts frequently—often quarterly—creating inconsistency and confusion. Ultimately, meaningful improvement is unlikely without addressing the culture and establishing real accountability.

Ventajas

Great leadership and teammates -- everyone is super helpful. Pay is good if you're on target. A good role for someone who is more experienced in non-profits or traditional CSM work, or both.

Desventajas

Limited training and pretty disorganized -- it's hard to get clear answers to questions without going through 3+ people first. Workload is a bit unrealistic for 40/hr work week. Management doesn't expect you to work more, but it's hard not to when half of your salary is dependent upon performance. Easy to get burnout. Also do not feel like it's the most DEI friendly workplace. People are nice and accepting overall, but top leadership morals seem to come through at times. Someone mentioned "manifest destiny" as a company workplace philosophy in an all hands once, and that was my queue to dip out.
