We work hard at creating the best place to work for our staff. This is very important to us and we proactively seek feedback on how to improve at every review and throughout our projects. The line that defines when work is good enough is going to be different from company to company and person to person. If those expectations cannot be reconciled, that doesn't make either the company or person bad, it's just not a match. We try to handle those situations respectfully, but clearly, somewhere something was left unsaid. Ironically, the disconnect is rooted in a desire to preserve relationships by avoiding conflict. Some problems can turn into big ones and by not addressing issues directly, it allows frustration to build until we say things that we regret. What will change? The truth is very important, regardless of how much it might hurt. Building a practice of having genuine conversations and solving problems quickly would go a long way towards making us more resilient to adversity. This is a management challenge and it will take continuous proactive effort, but it will be well worth the reward. We all deserve and can grow from honest, constructive feedback. Sincerely, Simon
