Ventajas
- Enjoyed my time at Rios, learned a lot
- Great colleagues, fun to work with, supportive
- Boutique consulting culture was mostly as advertised
- More manageable hours than big firms most of the time
- I'm surprised the reviews are so negative; my experience was largely positive
Desventajas
- Pay and especially bonuses are low (compared to other firms)
- Hours and intensity were project- and partner-dependent; most of my projects were manageable, a few were easy, and several were nightmares
- Promotion was very partner-dependent; some partners consistently got their people promoted and others didn't
- Very top heavy -- too many partners given the size of the firm
- Firings in winter 2023-2024 were handled poorly; rather than a round of layoffs, people were let go one by one with flimsy process and reasoning; demoralizing for those who left and hurt morale for everyone else
