Ventajas

- CEO is serial entrepreneur with strong fundraising track record - Young, hardworking colleagues from all around the world - Good opportunity for those just out of school or just a few years into their careers to learn a lot

Desventajas

- Brought it more experienced leaders across a number of functions, but most have quit or been pushed out. Only CEO and CCO have opinions that matter and no other leaders are really trusted to make any real decisions - Most junior/mid-level employees are not granted equity, yet are still expected to act as owners of the business -- it's one thing for the founders (who really have all the upside) to go above and beyond or work long hours, it's another to expect that of everyone else without skin in the game - HR only seems to exist for recruiting. No support, new and confusing performance review process (that only even happens in sole teams), nothing around culture and morale - Very German male oriented culture. If you’re not putting in lots of facetime and hanging out (read: drinking) with the key leaders, you’ll be entirely out of sight, out of mind - CEO is proud that it’s an “and” culture, not “either/or.” Having ambition is great, but when you make everything a priority nothing ends up being a priority and there’s no alignment on the vision - Complicated legal entity structure makes accounting processes cumbersome and slower than they should be. Another review pointed to late invoices as a sign of cash flow problems, but it's accounting being understaffed to manage the complex web of bank accounts, etc. when you own dozens of brands and operating in a number of different countries - FBA aggregator space is under real pressure and Razor is no exception - Expect to work (and be in the office) long hours. Emails and pings do not stop while on holidays either - People have been fired and contracts not renewed without any feedback in advance. If you’re not part of the core “clique” that the founders like, you’re 100% expendable

Thank you for leaving us a review. We appreciate you bringing your perspective to our attention. First and foremost, we would like to apologize and let you know that we have shared your feedback within our management team in order to drive improvement and ensure we can avoid these situations in the future. However, we would like to elaborate on some of your points. At Razor Group, we want to create a culture where every contribution is heard and respected. As a young company, the management team likes being involved in all business topics and decisions to point out solutions, provide guidance and keep the overview. Nonetheless, this doesn’t mean you don’t have a say. We appreciate all employees who go above and beyond for Razor Group. We are currently in a phase where we are transitioning from an extremely fast-paced environment to a more structured work environment. This means a change in culture and requires all employees, including leadership, to drive this change. There are no specific KPIs or policies related to equity. It is handled on an individual basis. For now, it is strongly linked to promotion as an additional reward or recognition for good performance. Our People Team’s door is always open. We are here to fight for you while being a neutral party in the case that you need one. There is a lot of work going on behind the scenes. In addition to recruiting we are focused primarily on long-term projects like improving onboarding or introducing more feedback cycles. We want to enhance our visibility and make sure all Razorians know we are always open for feedback and we encourage you to come to us for support. We do not tolerate any kind of favoritism and strive to maintain a merit-based culture based on performance. Employment at Razor Group is based upon individual merit and qualifications directly related to professional competence. We strictly prohibit unlawful discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, gender identity or expression, age, sexual orientation, or any other characteristics protexted by law. Boundaries are important, we encourage all of our employees to set them. We do not want you to be contacted during your vacations if you do not wish to be. Please make sure you update your Slack status and set up an automatic absence email. Moreover, communicate with your team. Communication is key to making sure people know exactly when and how to contact you. Use implemented feedback sessions to have open conversations about employee performance and expectations on both sides. Finally, we would very much appreciate your help and invite you to share feedback internally with the People Team (team-people@razor-group.com) as the described behavior is not what we strive to practice at Razor Group and we rely on each other to uphold the highest standards. Best, Your People Team
