Ventajas
the benefit package is one of the best ive seen. attendance policy is relatively relaxed. yearly bonuses if you get one. before the new owner, they gave christmas bonuses every year before christmas. usually 1200-2500 dollar bonuses. now that this new omar guy runs the place, you have to wait until January because he made it made the company public. you can invest in stocks if you want. but its not really worth it. the stocks started off at like 36 or 38 dollars per share. ive heard they fell drastically since then.
Desventajas
this job requires too much from its employees. as if running a machine thats physically demanding isnt enough, they throw in random overtime which could be extending your shift by 2 or 4 hours until further notice, or extending your shifts 2 to 4 hours AND mandatory 8 hours on saturday. when you make a complaint about being burnt out from all the overtime, all the supervisors do is throw their hands up and say "it came from upper management" or "if you dont like it then go work somewhere else" when you do eventually get tired of it, and find somewhere else, dont bother putting in your 2 weeks notice. theyll punish you by putting you on the worst machine they have up and running. Machine operators are ALWAYS blamed for everything production related. got rolls of paper fresh off the truck that run like dog ass? theyll force you to run the paper anyways, and accumulate 2000lbs of scrap. then the following day, yell at you for not shutting the machine down and making 2000lbs of scrap. acting shocked as if they didnt know the paper was crap and made you run it anyways. this place doesnt care about its labor force, which is why they spent some odd 3 or 4 million dollars renovating the offices. putting in new air conditioners, new beautiful wooden desks, glass walls yada yada. you know what machine operators and assembly people got? more machines to run, and a stupid robot arm that stacks bundles of paper on one of the easiest machines to run. make that make sense.
