Ventajas

RMI is a great place to develop connections with others in the renewable energy industry. Many of the people with Associate and Sr. Associate roles are friendly and care about the work they are doing. Internal Learning and Development courses are great.

Desventajas

RMI is a think-tank where creativity come to die. If you are a creative person I highly recommend not working here. You will spend your whole year trying to convince people to try a creative endeavor and your performance review will be jeopardized for thinking outside the box. RMI much rather prefers work to be carried out in a hierarchical structure where you are directed to sit and carry out back of the envelope straight forward energy projects that do not require much thought or innovation. Overall, RMI is experiencing major growing pains and it is incredibly difficult to move up in the organization. While everyone wants to progress and is highly motivated, the organization would much rather hire management consultants from the outside instead of promote internally. This demonstrates how they do not value internal growth. Sexism often holds women back from being promoted (since 90% of leadership is men) and is a reason many women leave the organization.
