Desventajas
Very dull job with terrible hours and shift patterns. Shifts can start run anytime between 5am and 11.15pm (extending to 12.15am soon) Monday-Sunday and shift preferences are often ignored. I often had very little control over when my days off would be, on one occasion I requested one weekend off over well in advance and this was refused. My sleep has suffered greatly as working a shift finishing at 11.15pm for a few days then a 5am shift a few days later negatively affects my sleeping pattern, which I can't get to shift that fast. My social life has also suffered as I have no control or way to predict when my shifts will be until the rota comes out, and as my shift preferences for the rota are ignored, I can't plan things in advance with friends. The shifts are long and you can only really leave your workstation (to get a cup of tea, or use the restroom) during one of your breaks (which are only every two hours, and that's if there's enough coverage at the time). This means hours of just sitting, without being able to stretch your legs at any point. The product is mediocre at best, and I fail to see the point in running the chat service from 5am-8am and 7pm-12am, as the dealerships are usually closed, the customers are usually not interested in continuing the chat once they know sales won't join, and an online form would easily do the job. No opportunities for progression whatsoever. It seems like the chat team, part of the core team that literally run part of the product, are often forgotten by senior management in favor of the sales teams. Prime example of a company that puts profit over its employees.
