Working at Prometric is a frustrating and disappointing experience, especially for the compensation offered. At just $11 per hour, employees are expected to handle a large workload while enduring long hours, sometimes up to 10-12 hours a day, often without proper breaks. The company is severely understaffed, putting immense pressure on the current employees to not only manage daily tasks but also to purchase essential supplies like water, cups, and sanitizer out of pocket, with no reimbursement. Upper management seems completely disconnected from the reality of the test centers, offering no insight or support to the employees who run them. They hold "town hall" meetings to boast about the company's financial success but fail to reflect any of that success in employee wages or benefits. Instead, employees are given pizza parties as a superficial gesture, which does nothing to address the real issues they face, such as low pay, lack of growth opportunities, and inadequate staffing. Additionally, there’s no room for advancement, and employees are often forced to work weekends, making it difficult to maintain a personal life. The benefits are poor, and the forced 401k plan is an insult considering the low wages. Ironically, temps working in the same role earn $5 more per hour, further discouraging those who might consider long-term employment with Prometric. In short, Prometric undervalues its employees while expecting them to work tirelessly under less-than-ideal conditions. A recommendation for higher management: listen to the employees who are the backbone of the company, improve compensation, staffing, and working conditions, and prioritize their well-being over token gestures like pizza parties.
