Ventajas
The engineers but the individual contributors who are engineers.
Desventajas
I've been with the company for more than 10 years. When you've been with a company that long as a senior employee, you think this is where it is for you. Well, unless the company's culture drastically changes. And that is what has happened to MathWorks. Leadership and management is so far away from their core values. There are so many examples I don't know where to start on how this company's culture has degraded. Then you layer on low salaries, micromanagers, constant change in direction (particularly in marketing), inconsistent leadership guidelines from group to group, no top down accountability, being punished for being a hard worker with more work, etc. you start looking for another job with another company.
