Wow. Very, very little. Hourly pay to depend on. Busy on weekends. Might be a good place to start your career.
Desventajas
This could go on forever. Subpar education about once a year, if that. NO FLEXIBILITY WITH SCHEDULE (manager had insecurity issues and didn't want you to succeed). Not to mention HOLIDAY MALL HOURS. YES, A SALON OPEN UNTIL 11, what the hell is the point of that no one comes in after 9. Also, if you have kids and a family, they definently don't care that you don't want to close every night. You will only make minimum wage as a stylist, maybe product comission if you are lucky. Even our stylists that were constantly busy never hit the sliding pay scale, mind you these stylists have been with the company for years. Clients are crazy, extremely rude, and cheap as hell; "mall people" looking for someone to harass so they could get free work done. Literally the most tramatic part of the whole job. Management will never have your back, only the clients, so for new people straight from school, you better be amazing because there is no room for error with these ruthless people. Management is an absolute joke and waste of time. They are so personally invested that they have mentally checked out, and upper management are soulless, number crunching, money stealing theives. They are giving money to repair the shops, but they spend on themselves (we had a backup shampoo bowl, and we were told to use the toilet water from the tank to rinse clients). The funding and pay for management is so little and spread so thin, you would be lucky to even have management on duty, oh and if they weren't in shop that day don't bother calling if you need help, they are "off the clock." But the can, and will, call and text you on your day off to ask you to come in. If it's dead, which most days during the week were, you had to sit and wait for your life to waste away because remember, it's a mall and the shop IS ALWAYS FREAKING OPEN. All weekdays you closed by yourself, which is stupid and not safe, because you are a target for the craziness that occurs. I've had people bother me all night, and you guessed it, management doesn't care at all. And don't get me started on the pettiness and favoritism that transcends all forms of management. Working there was hell on earth, to the point were all the stylists who worked there when I was hired all left, including management. This job wrecked me mentally so bad I'm considering not even doing hair anymore. This places kills stylists.
