Ventajas

Incredibly easy job, nice coworkers.

Desventajas

As a Casual, you're schedule is never consistent. You have to be available all day, 6 days a week, so you'll never feel comfortable making plans. There's no additional pay for being called in last minute, so being a casual really has no perks aside from specifying which days you're available to work, but even then, you're only allowed to change that once a year. It is a for-profit company, so they prioritize cost savings over anything else, just like any other for-profit company would. This unfortunately leads to very overworked lab technicians, so it's difficult to see them struggling so much when our job is so easy in comparison. Seeing people cry can really dampen the day. Some of the routes are ridiculously easy, while others are so packed with stops that there's no time for breaks or you'll be running into overtime. If you're looking for a full-time position, you have to wait until someone retires or quits or is otherwise permanently removed, but then their route goes up for bid, and if it's one of the good ones, someone with more seniority will take it, leaving you with the worst of the routes. Casuals don't get the benefits package or paid vacations, but they do get 6% added to their paycheque to compensate.
