Very low pay (I could not even afford my own apartment in suburban Atlanta working 40 hours a week)
I heard of cases of interpreters who had to work out of their closets because they could not afford to have a home office
Lack of health benefits
High turnover rate and low worker morale
Video calls are just a way for them to collect more money and a true nuisance to the interpreter
Because of the low pay, I had to work many more hours than I was able to handle just to make ends meet. I was drained at the end of the day!
No pay raises!
