The teacher's assistant, Jessie, is very good, and he answered plenty of questions from me. He goes out of his way to assist you. It's like you're dumped on a desert island and left to fend for yourself. There is NO way of knowing what you're going to be teaching. Students can Randomly Call you, and you've no idea what you're up against. The same with the slots you open on your schedule. These are for booked lessons, but again, there is no indication of what you will teach. Big bummer! It's all on a smartphone, which is an awkward medium to use. Give me a laptop any day. Self-marketing. There are no guaranteed students, and you're expected to promote yourself through various means, including creating short educational videos.

You can do it with a mobile

I took some classes with Lan Master and they thought it was OK to deduct pay from me even after paying me the low starting rate. This was because a student asked me a general question to which I provided a general answer, as I only could. I think he asked 'How can I do well on the IELTS?' to which I replied 'Study and practice, especially for speaking' or something like that. The student then proceeded to make a complaint and they deducted pay from me. This is outrageous and is actually theft as they can't legally do that, surely? So I stopped doing lessons, and asked for the deducted pay to be refunded. Their team refused, and so I said fine, get stuffed, close my account. And that was that Do they think that is a professional way of doing business? And expect to retain staff?!
