They ran lean so I got to work on all aspects of marketing. It was a good first job for this reason. The experienced I gained beefed up my resume and my next job after was awesome. I landed it in part because of my versatility from this role. I did get to travel a lot.

I'll let you come to your conclusions on that as far as career growth as a woman at the company, but I'll say it was often ran like it was the 80s. The director if my department was great at the time though. I had no idea how underpaid I was until my next job when it went up by 12k. I was pulling 12 hour days and that was normal for the culture. People didn't leave because they were hooked with work visas or too close to retirement or the owner offered private school for their kids as part of compensation (so I heard), allegedly.
