HSID is by far, the best place I have worked in Legal Tech. The company is generous with compensation, time off and benefits. Work balance is not just an aspirational goal that is never achieved, it is actively monitored, adjusted and a concern of leadership. What really sets Haystack apart is they genuinely care about their employees, their growth and career path. Management is visible, approachable, inclusive and listens to employee feedback. You are not just a number here or "fungible" as I was told PMs and Review PMs were at another vendor, Haystack invests in you as a person and a professional. The work is challenging and demanding, like all legal tech jobs but unlike other vendors, there is a sense of purpose and teamwork here across divisions. Cutting edge tech, like AI tools, are carefully vetted by experts, developed into solid workflows and rolled out to the community in a thoughtful, supportive way.

Desventajas

Like any fast paced and extraordinarily busy eDiscovery environment, tight deadlines, direction changes, long hours, work unpredictability can be difficult and are not for everyone. (clients always love to drop work on you at Friday at 6:00 pm) If your lifestyle does not accommodate working longer, unpredictable hours, then legal tech/eDiscovery may not be a good fit. My positive experience is with the Client Services, eDiscovery side of Haystack. Other divisions generally share the same culture but not all.

There are no pros at Haystack ID

Desventajas

Low hourly wage, no overtime, no benefits, empty promises of work end up being weeks of no work tied to projects that end with little work.  Of all the E-discovery companies, this is by far the worst.  Every time I sign up for a project at Haystack, I regret it, because I end up tied up, to a project with low hours, long pauses and little regard for the reviewer.  It seems other companies have have an upper hand over the law firms, and don't allow for them to keep reviewers hanging for undetermined periods. Haystack seems to be bullied and controlled by law firms and allows them to do whatever they want, hence hurting the reviewers at the bottom with no work.  Managers have a copy and paste email they send to reviewers "I was once a reviewers, and know how frustrating it is to be in your shoes" but they do nothing about it.
