Ventajas
Gro is positioned in a high-growth, recession-proof industry with no shortage of potential business. The company has generous salaries well above market averages. Not great benefits though. Sara is a knowledgeable and passionate CEO who is well-respected in the space, often giving speeches and interviews. Many employees are very intelligent and dedicated to the cause.
Desventajas
Collectively, everyone is getting burnt out and many are leaving the company. There is no cohesive plan, and continually we rush to meet unreasonable deadlines to build lackluster products full of problems. All the new employees don’t seem to know anything about the industry but are in decision-making positions. How can they design, build, or sell quality products if they don’t know the customers and what they want? There’s almost never promotions, and no 401k matching or bonuses. There are blurry lines around people’s roles, so you’re often asked to do work outside the scope of your original job description. This would be fine, except that work is rarely recognized with more than a “good job.” And if you give an inch, they take a mile. Do 1 extra task and suddenly you’re responsible for 20. When I started at Gro it was the best job. Everyone was so kind, we worked well together, and things got done. Now it feels like chaos and everyone is so passive aggressive due to being stressed and burnt out.
