Ventajas

* Beside COVID-19, business opportunity is big * Well funded * Some talented colleagues * Learning budget, even though they keep changing the amount and the rules

Desventajas

* Average pay (used to be slightly above average but missed recent market move) * Upper management is disconnected from reality and continue to ignore any and all signals whether they are direct as in direct-feedback or indirect as in resignation waves * For Engineering, promotion is granted for showing off, actual work and day-to-day business is not considered * Example: once presenting a tech lunch was removed from being a promotion-worthy activity, the schedule ran embarrassingly dry that the CTO stepped-in and scheduled a monthly AMA session, that was also an embarrassment because everyone joined just because it's the CTO but the discussions were very basic and weak * Even with "retention grant of virtual shares", resignations are hitting all teams and all roles, EMs, PMs, and engineers on all levels * Failure to fill the positions, the company had doubled and tripled referral bonus, yet they still have to promote engineers to Engineering Management positions at last minute, which brings the next point * Instead of "raising the bar" as the company claims when filling in positions, they are instead pushing employees with no management experience to management role by the promise of faster higher pay vs working longer to be promoted to Staff-level * While multiple companies acknowledged COVID-19 stress and fatigue in various ways like additional time-off, the company refused to do any of that even with the employees demanding it every single global update meeting, instead they offered access to unofficial therapy sessions, another example of disconnect between upper management and employees * Operations teams are usually mistreated, as an engineer I don't usually work daily with operations teams but I had the opportunity to work multiple times with operations and it was obvious how they have higher load with peanut pay and little-to-no appreciation or career path progression
