Ventajas

You get to sit down. There's air conditioning. Parking was decent. The view from the office was nice.

Desventajas

Top to bottom dishonest practices. Management was downright cruel, and it seemed intentional to me. Extremely unprofessional. The work itself was difficult and you could expect to be yelled at over the phone. 100% turnover appeared to be the weekly norm. Every fair, negative review I've seen has been quickly and quietly removed, including my own. I was hired, including submitting all of the new hire paperwork, but was sent home to be "on reserve" or something to that effect. Once a handful of people had quit (about a day), they called me in. The new-hire who won the weekly iPad raffle actually called me after I had quit, as a hiring manager, because they had forgotten that I had worked there the week before. Disorganized. Beyond stressful.

Ventajas

Very fun work environment. There are tons of opportunities to bring home cash bonuses daily. The day often starts off with a game or challenge of some sort, typically with monetary prizes. There is also a team competition on every Friday with much larger bonuses. The manager while I was working there was engaging, incredibly supportive, and easy-going. While the games and challenges are competitive, and you’re often fighting against other co-workers for bonuses, there is a strong sense of camaraderie in the office.

Desventajas

It’s 100% cold-calling. Besides the games, you do nothing but sit in a small cubicle staring at a computer all day. They work with a company selling online advertising space to realtors, and the realtors you call are 99% of the time less than thrilled with being bothered. You are given a script, and it is hammered down that you stick to it. You are allowed some deviation to make the call more personable, but you’re still repeating the same script over and over all day long. The only job security you have is if you manage to get sales, which is 50% luck. There is definitely skill needed for that other 50%. If you don’t manage to get sales, you’re out. There is a fairly high turnover rate. The interview for the job is also a group interview, and they will likely take several people at a time with the assumption that most won’t make it through the week. Out of the 4 people I was hired with, I was the only one that lasted. There is also no opportunity for advancement. Your only job will be sitting behind a computer cold-calling realtors.
