Absolutely meaningless job. The routine of the hedge fund is just like a big whale eats, they swim around with their mouths open and filter food through their baleen bristles. Exactly the same way the researchers work, they have to produce loads of meaningless (absolute lack of research) strategies (automatized) alphas and then never had a chance to improve, discuss with traders or research further. They're looking to hire PhDs, but you don't need any education at all, just a basic coding skills to produce these worthless "strategies". Even farmers can do this job, not joking they once organized an event that everyone could take part and some farmer performed quite well. If you enjoy challenge yourself and like to do something that makes sense at all, don't even consider this job opportunity. If you like a lazy lifestyle and don't care what you're doing at your workplace for OK money, then this job is for you.
