Ventajas
The people you work with make such an impact on your day-to-day, and GCI has done a great job cultivating talented, smart, and kind people. It helps that we have common interests and share the same priorities (both in and out of the office). Many of my friends in the industry continue to hop from one company to another, trying to find one that fits. In my experience at GCI, my managers have always encouraged my growth and advocated for rewarding my work. I always feel appreciated, which is no small thing. They also make every effort to make sure people are working on accounts that they're interested in and passionate about - and I think that holds true from direct managers all the way up to senior management. The culture here is incredible. I believe we all genuinely like each other and enjoy spending time with one another. From happy hours, to volunteer initiatives to fundraising events (walks, runs, etc.), we're always game to hang out outside of the office.
Desventajas
It's not a secret that when working in PR, work/life balance is hard to achieve. While we do put in a lot of hours, it's always appreciated by team members. We all have a life outside of work, and everyone at GCI encourages that. I know I can't say the same from previous experiences at other agencies.
